Walking

From the hostel it is possible to walks straight onto the back of the Nantle Ridge and Moel Hebog. Low level strolls are possible in Cwm Pennant and around Llyn Cwmystradllyn. The eastern summit on The Rivals, Tre’r Ceiri (485m), is home to one of the most well-preserved and spectacular Iron Age hill forts in Britain. Alternatively the Rhinogs and Snowdon are a 30-45 minute drive away.

Climbing

A number of different climbing areas can be accessed from Cwm Pennant. The Lleyn Peninsula lies to the west, the cliffs of Tremadog lie to the east and the central Snowdonia mountains lie to the north. When the rest of Snowdonia is rained in, there is a reasonable chance that if not basking in sunshine, Tremadog is at least dry!

Mountain Biking

Coed y Brenin is a 35 minute drive from the hostel and the Gwydyr Forest trails near Betws-y-Coed are 45 minutes away.
