The Hostel

Cwm Pennant Hostel is a 50 bed independent hostel offering relaxed accommodation for individuals and groups set within stunning grounds. We are located only 4 miles from Porthmadog and very close to Tremadog. Located in converted stables and barn for the now derelict Brynkir Hall. The building retains many of its original features, with exposed beams running throughout the first floor bedrooms and lounge.

We welcome families, individuals and groups and provide accommodation in private rooms and dormitories. The hostel has two 10-bedded and one 8-bedded dormitories; and four 4-bedded rooms. We also provide a lounge, dedicated training room, drying room, home cooked food and on-site parking; and offer a range of additional services including a power washer for mountain bikes and secure storage for bikes, kayaks and canoes.

Please note that our self-catering kitchen is under construction. Currently guests have access to tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge and microwave only.

Directions

From the South:

Leave Porthmadog on the A487 towards Caernarfon. After 2 miles you pass through the village of Penmorfa, take the next right turn – signed ‘Golan’ and ‘Woollen Mill’ and follow the brown Hostel signs to Cwm Pennant Hostel.

From the North:

Leave the A55 and follow the A487 through Caernarfon and on towards Porthmadog. Twelve miles after Caernarfon, you pass through the village of Bryncir. Continue past the Madhia restaurant on the left, then take the second turning on your left signed ‘Cwm Pennant’ and follow the Brown Hostel signs to Cwm Pennant Hostel.
